How Long Between Laser Hair Removal Sessions?

The amount of time needed between laser hair removal treatment depends on the area being treated.

When the skin is zapped with a laser hair removal device, heat is applied directly to the hair follicles.

When this happens, the follicles are damaged and hair will no longer grow from them.

However, hair follicles are plentiful, and not all of them will have hair growing at the same time. Unfortunately this means that hair will continue to grow even after the first treatment, and further treatments will be necessary.

Therefore, it is important that you complete each treatment responsibly and prepare correctly. When you come in for a consultation the nurse we will tell you exactly what to do before laser hair removal.

Usually, this means there will be a waiting period of about 4-8 weeks in between each laser hair removal session, but that will vary dependent on treatment area being targeted and the patients skin and hair type.

Each area will have require a certain amount of time between treatments:

  • Facial hair treatments will need to be spaced out between 6-8 weeks apart.
  • Back or leg hair treatments will need to be spaced out by up to 10-12 weeks.
  • Most other body hair will need 8-10 weeks between treatments.
The exact time you need will be determined by our nurse during your free laser hair removal consultation.
