Three layers, three different jobs
A body shape is built from three layers — fat just under the skin, muscle below it, and the skin itself — and no single device fixes all three. That is the whole point of treating body contouring as a decision rather than a product. Stubborn, diet-resistant fat responds to heat: radiofrequency raises fat to a temperature that triggers apoptosis, the controlled death of fat cells, which the body then clears over weeks.8,9,12 Muscle responds to a different signal: high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy forces supramaximal contractions that voluntary exercise can't match, driving the muscle to grow.2,7 Loose skin needs a third approach entirely — remodeling collagen in the dermis.11
At Miami Skin Spa in Brickell we carry the tools for each: truSculpt iD for fat, EmSculpt NEO for fat and muscle at once, and Morpheus8 Body for skin. One reality runs through everything below: body contouring refines shape for someone already near a healthy weight — it is not a substitute for weight loss, it cannot remove large folds of excess skin, and cellulite is the hardest thing of all to durably change.14,17
One body, three technologies
Every device on our body-contouring menu does one of three things — reduce fat, build muscle, or tighten skin — and the right plan usually combines them. Here is the mechanism behind each, in plain terms.2,7,11
Fat. Monopolar radiofrequency (truSculpt iD) and the RF in EmSculpt NEO heat the subcutaneous fat layer to roughly 45°C while the skin surface is kept cooler. That controlled heat injures fat cells enough to trigger apoptosis; over about 12 weeks your body clears them, and those particular cells don't return.8,9,10 Because this is heat-based, it does not carry the paradoxical-fat-growth risk that the FDA links specifically to fat-freezing (cryolipolysis) — a treatment we don't use.19,20
Muscle. HIFEM energy in EmSculpt NEO triggers thousands of supramaximal contractions in a 30-minute session — contractions deeper than you can produce voluntarily — and the muscle adapts by remodeling and growing. Doing it with synchronized radiofrequency at the same time appears to enhance both the muscle and fat effects versus either alone.2,3,7
Skin. Morpheus8 Body sends bipolar RF through microneedles into the deep dermis and the layer just beneath, coagulating a little fat and contracting connective tissue so new collagen forms and the skin firms over months.11
The three layers, in short. Body shape is built from three layers — skin, the fat under it, and the muscle below — and each needs a different technology: RF microneedling (Morpheus8 Body) remodels skin, radiofrequency heat (truSculpt iD, EmSculpt NEO) raises fat to apoptosis, and HIFEM contractions (EmSculpt NEO) build muscle. Heat clears fat over ~12 weeks while the skin surface is kept cool. Most real plans combine more than one.2,8,11
Which treatment for your goal?
Tell us what you're trying to change and where. We'll point to the option that usually fits best from our menu — and flag when weight loss, a cellulite plan, or surgery is the better path. This is guidance; your consultation confirms it.2,17
1 · What's your main goal?
2 · Where?
For stubborn, diet-and-exercise-resistant fat on the abdomen and flanks, truSculpt iD uses monopolar radiofrequency to heat and permanently clear fat cells (about 24% in the treated layer). If you also want more muscle tone, EmSculpt NEO does both at once. Results are best when you're already near a stable, healthy weight.
Fat vs. muscle vs. skin, in one line
If the problem is a fat pocket, think truSculpt iD; if it's weak tone, think EmSculpt NEO; if it's loose skin, think Morpheus8 Body — and if it's the number on the scale, think medical weight loss first. Most people get the best result from a thoughtful combination.
The numbers, in context
Here are the headline figures the manufacturers and independent reviewers report for body sculpting in Brickell and everywhere else — read them as averages in the treated area, not guarantees, and with the measurement caveat below.1,2
Two things to keep in mind about these bars. First, they describe change in the small area treated — a 30% fat reduction in a treated abdomen is not 30% of your body fat, and it won't move the scale much. Second, the most rigorous look at this technology — a 2025 independent review in Annals of Plastic Surgery — found the fat and muscle changes are real and measurable but urged that they be read within the margin of error of MRI and ultrasound, and noted that liposuction is still the benchmark for maximal fat removal.1
That is exactly why we lead with EmSculpt NEO in Miami for people who want tone plus a modest fat reduction in one device, and reserve it from anyone expecting dramatic weight change. The companion muscle data is among the strongest in aesthetics: across more than 30 HIFEM publications, supramaximal contractions reliably increase muscle thickness and even satellite-cell content.2,7
From fat to muscle to skin
Each tool on our body-contouring menu does one main job. Here is how the options we offer line up — fat, muscle, skin, dimpling, or the scale.2,8,11

EmSculpt NEO vs. truSculpt — the common question
truSculpt iD
The truSculpt iD in Miami uses monopolar radiofrequency to heat and permanently clear a fat pocket — about 24% of the fat layer from a single session, with mild skin tightening as a bonus. It builds no muscle. Choose truSculpt in Miami when the issue is a specific bulge (abdomen, flanks, thighs) and tone isn't the goal.10,22
And if it's purely muscle?
When fat truly isn't the issue and you just want strength and tone, a dedicated muscle-sculpting protocol (electromagnetic muscle stimulation) can deliver up to roughly a 30% increase in muscle mass over a short series — the same principle EmSculpt NEO uses, minus the fat-reducing RF.7,17 Your consultation decides which is the better fit.
Where we can sculpt
Tap a zone — or a chip — to see what we use there, from a double chin treatment in Miami to the abdomen, arms, glutes and thighs. EmSculpt NEO is used on large muscle groups only, never on the face or neck.10,13
Abdomen & flanks
The most-treated zone: fat with truSculpt iD, fat plus muscle with EmSculpt NEO, and loose skin or stretch marks with Morpheus8 Body.
What it won't do
Non-surgical body contouring in Miami refines the shape of someone already close to a healthy weight — here is the plain truth about its boundaries before you spend a dollar.1,17
It is not weight loss
The FDA is explicit that these devices are not intended to treat obesity, and no fat-reduction procedure is a weight-loss treatment. If you have more than roughly 15-20 lb to lose, the sequence is to reach a stable weight first — with medical weight loss if that helps — and then contour.17,21
It can't remove loose skin folds
Morpheus8 Body firms mild-to-moderate laxity and crepey skin, but it cannot excise large folds of true excess skin after major weight loss or pregnancy. That is a surgical body-contouring conversation, and we will say so plainly.11,15
Cellulite is the hardest to fix
Cellulite is structural — fibrous bands tether the skin while fat pushes up between them. The most durable improvement comes from releasing those bands; energy devices and topicals mostly improve skin quality rather than erase dimpling. We set realistic expectations before any cellulite reduction in Miami.14,16
Body contouring isn't for everyone
Body contouring isn't for everyone. Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other electronic or metal implant in or near the treatment area — HIFEM and RF are generally contraindicated there. Active infection, certain medical conditions, and a high BMI also change the plan. Every consultation screens for this first.2,13
Gradual by design
Whether you're clearing fat or building muscle, your body does the work over weeks. A little patience is part of a natural-looking result.1,10

A plan, not a single zap
Body contouring works best as a short series, and often as a thoughtful combination — sequence the scale, the fat and muscle, then the skin.4,19
Sessions & maintenance
A course of EmSculpt NEO in Brickell is typically four 30-minute sessions over about two weeks; truSculpt iD is often 1-2 sessions on large areas (2-4 with the small chin applicator); Morpheus8 Body is about 3. Results build to roughly 12 weeks, with periodic upkeep plus healthy habits.10,13,22
What it costs
Cost depends on the device, the area and the number of sessions, and treatments are usually sold as packages. We give a clear, itemized quote at your consultation — see pricing and real results.
Combination plans
The best outcomes often layer treatments in order: reach a stable weight, reduce fat and build muscle (truSculpt iD / EmSculpt NEO), then firm the skin (Morpheus8 Body). We sequence them so each makes the next look better.4,19
One menu, matched to you
Because we carry the full body-contouring menu — EmSculpt NEO, truSculpt iD, muscle sculpting, Morpheus8 Body and cellulite reduction — plus medical weight loss, we're not selling a single device. Patients across Miami and Brickell come to us for body sculpting in Brickell precisely because we recommend what fits, combine when it helps, and refer for surgery when that's the right answer. Treatments are performed by our trained Brickell team.

Frequently asked questions
There's no single "best" — the right body contouring treatment in Miami depends on your goal. For stubborn fat, truSculpt iD; for tone plus fat, EmSculpt NEO; for loose skin, Morpheus8 Body; and if there's real weight to lose, medical weight loss first. Our tool above and a consultation match it to you.2,17
No. These devices are not a weight-loss treatment, and the FDA does not clear them to treat obesity. They refine the shape of someone already near a stable, healthy weight. If you have significant weight to lose, we'd start with a medical weight loss plan first.17,21
Within real limits. Cellulite is structural — fibrous bands tether the skin — so durable improvement comes from releasing those bands; energy devices and topicals mostly improve skin quality rather than erase dimpling. A cellulite treatment in Brickell starts with an assessment and realistic expectations.14,16
