Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar molecule your skin produces naturally. It binds water, supports the skin’s structure, and is responsible for much of the suppleness and bounce we associate with younger skin. Topical HA serums sit on the surface; SkinVive places a modified HA gel directly into the dermis, where it can actually hold water within the skin.

The HA in SkinVive is modified using Allergan Aesthetics’ VYCROSS® technology, so it integrates with the skin and lasts longer than unmodified hyaluronic acid. Once placed, it hydrates from within, softens surface texture, and produces the healthy, lit-from-within glow the treatment is known for.

The microdroplet technique

What makes SkinVive distinct from a traditional dermal filler is how it’s placed. Instead of building structure in targeted zones, your injector delivers the gel through an ultrafine needle as a series of tiny microdroplets spaced closely across the cheek area — typically from the upper cheekbone down toward the jawline — so the HA distributes evenly through the skin itself.

Unlike treatments that build over multiple sessions, SkinVive is a single-visit treatment. Your injector places the microdroplets across both cheeks in one appointment that takes about 15 minutes once the area is mapped.

When results appear

Initial smoothness and hydration are typically visible within a few days. The full effect arrives at 2–3 weeks, once the hyaluronic acid has completely integrated with the surrounding tissue. If you’re treating ahead of an event — a wedding, a shoot, a big work moment — book at least two weeks out.

How long it lasts

The first 24 hours

Expect small bumps or mild swelling at the injection sites for several hours; these typically smooth out within a day or two. To get the cleanest result:

• Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for the first 24 hours.
• Skip strenuous exercise, hot yoga, saunas, and steam rooms on the day of treatment.
• Stay upright for a few hours after your injection.

The first week

• Hold off on facials, microneedling, and aggressive skincare for about a week.
• Keep your routine gentle while the HA integrates — cleanser, moisturizer, SPF.
• Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is non-negotiable — sun exposure is the fastest way to undo any skin-quality investment, especially under Miami sun.

Long-term maintenance
