Hydradermabrasion in four steps — cleanse, exfoliate, extract, hydrate
The HydraFacial™ (you'll also see it written "hydra facial") is hydradermabrasion — a comprehensive, multi-step skin treatment powered by advanced patented technology. Unlike a standard facial, HydraFacial uses unique vortex suction to deeply cleanse pores while simultaneously delivering nourishing ingredients. The full treatment takes about 30 minutes, and most clients see visibly refreshed, hydrated, glowing skin right away.
- 1 — Cleansing and exfoliation — removing dead skin cells and impurities to reveal fresh skin and prepare it for treatment.
- 2 — Gentle peel — a no-sting peel exfoliates the skin without irritation.
- 3 — Painless extraction — vortex suction removes dirt, debris, and impurities from clogged pores. No pinching, no harsh squeezing.
- 4 — Hydration — antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid are infused deep into the skin, leaving it glowing and refreshed.
- Optional — LED light therapies — red LED light supports collagen and skin rejuvenation; blue LED light targets acne-causing bacteria.
A quick primer on facials
Facials come in many forms — manual extraction, microdermabrasion, charcoal masks, acne facials, lymphatic drainage, LED light therapy, acupuncture, anti-aging, brightening, and aromatherapy facials. They all serve the same goal: clearer, better skin, by removing the buildup of sweat and dirt in your pores while decreasing pore size. The basic steps are cleansing, exfoliating, and nourishing the skin to promote a clear, well-hydrated complexion — and a facial works most efficiently as part of an ongoing treatment plan. Browse the umbrella options on our facials menu, or start with a skin consultation with a nurse practitioner on our team.
Why HydraFacial is often called the best type of facial in Miami
HydraFacial brings the best of several facial approaches together in one comfortable, 30-minute session. Unlike a charcoal mask, which can leave skin red and irritated if overused, it's gentle enough to do regularly; unlike manual extraction alone, it pairs deep-cleansing suction with serums rich in antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid — your skin walks out hydrated, not stripped. It's a proven protocol, trusted globally, with published hydradermabrasion research reporting improvement in skin texture and tone. Clients come to us for two things: a quick fix for blackheads and redness, and a holistic starting point for anti-aging.
Hydration & dullness
The signature result is the glow — if your skin reads tired or flat, the hydration step floods it with hyaluronic acid for an immediate brighter, more radiant finish. It's also the fastest fix for dehydrated skin stressed by sun, AC, or travel — a Miami trifecta, and why this is the go-to treatment for busy professionals in Brickell.
Acne & congested pores
Deep-cleansing vortex extraction with salicylic-acid and antibacterial serums clears blackheads and congestion without over-drying — one of the gentlest in-office options for acne-prone skin. Blue LED light therapy can be added to target acne-causing bacteria.
Tone, dark spots & texture
Brightening boosters like Britenol target dark spots and hyperpigmentation, while the exfoliation steps smooth uneven texture. Because the treatment is gentle and non-thermal, it's also a low-risk maintenance option for pigment-prone skin, including clients managing melasma.
Fine lines & anti-aging
Antioxidant- and peptide-rich serums plus red LED light therapy support collagen for fine lines and wrinkles — a sensible, no-downtime entry point before stepping up to collagen-remodeling treatments.
Matched to your skin type
- Normal skin — the Signature HydraFacial delivers a thorough cleanse, exfoliation, painless extraction, and hydrating serum infusion: a great rhythm for staying refreshed and protected.
- Oily skin — oily skin breaks out more easily, and heavy oils and moisturizers can clog pores and build more acne. We recommend a Deluxe or Platinum HydraFacial with acne-targeting boosters and blue LED light therapy, on a monthly cadence.
- Combination skin — the middle ground, where some zones run oilier or more sensitive than others. A quick skin consultation with a licensed professional gets you an accurate read, then we tailor the boosters to the zones that need them.
Choose your HydraFacial tier
- Signature HydraFacial — $200, 45 min. Exfoliates, cleanses, and extracts the dirt from your clogged pores. Ideal for first-time clients and regular maintenance.
- Deluxe HydraFacial — $250–$350, about 1 hour. Our anti-aging, acne defense, and clarifying/radiance facials live in this tier — the Signature protocol plus a personalized booster and LED light therapy, with the price depending on your boosters of choice.
- Platinum HydraFacial — $350, about 90 min. Our most comprehensive option: lymphatic drainage massage, the full protocol, a booster, and LED — tailored for deeper hydration or extractions based on your skin's needs.
- HydraFacial Forma — $450. Lymphatic drainage plus the HydraFacial protocol plus Forma radiofrequency skin tightening in one extended visit.
- HydraFacial Clarify Back — $300. The same deep-cleansing protocol for congestion-prone skin on the back.
Boosters that personalize the result
Boosters and perks are added to address specific skin concerns: CTGF growth-factor serum for fine lines and skin rejuvenation, Britenol for brightening dark spots, and ProDerm-style calming serums for sensitive, redness-prone skin. Your provider matches the booster to your goal at the start of every visit.

How often should you get a HydraFacial?
In an ideal world, a facial should be completed every two weeks. Not everyone has time for that, so at the very least we recommend once every six weeks — a lot of dirt and oil builds up in your pores in that window, and eventually it causes breakouts or blackheads. For HydraFacial specifically, the sweet spot for most of our Miami Skin Spa clients is every 4–6 weeks: consistently clear, hydrated, bright skin without over-treating.
Make the rhythm automatic
For clients committed to taking their skin health seriously, our medical spa membership makes this rhythm affordable and automatic — and packages of 3 or 6 sessions do the same without a recurring commitment. Ask at the front desk or at your consultation.
Why consistency pays off
Regular HydraFacial treatments can also help your at-home products work better: when pores are clean and skin is properly hydrated, the actives in your routine actually penetrate.
Right after your session
One of the best things about a HydraFacial is that it requires virtually no downtime. Immediately after the treatment, your skin will feel refreshed, hydrated, and smooth, with a radiant glow. Some clients experience slight redness or mild sensitivity, but these effects typically subside within a few hours — and you can return to your daily activities right away.
The first 24 hours
- Avoid heavy makeup and direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours.
- Stick to gentle skincare products and avoid exfoliants or harsh chemicals immediately after.
- Stay hydrated to enhance your skin's post-treatment glow.
- Continue applying the products your provider recommends — this keeps any problem areas at bay.
The Miami caveat
It's always a good idea to stay out of the sun, but when you live in Miami that's hard — even reflected sunlight off the ground can impact your skin. After a facial, your skin is slightly inflamed and in a sensitive state, so keep it out of direct sunlight for a couple of hours, wear broad-spectrum SPF, and drink plenty of water. Our sun damage guide covers what Miami sun actually does to skin.
What we pair it with
HydraFacial is the maintenance backbone of our face menu — easy to combine with deeper treatments when your goals call for more:
- A chemical peel when you want true skin resurfacing — deeper correction of pigment and texture, alternated between HydraFacial visits.
- SkinPen microneedling for collagen induction on texture, fine lines, and acne scarring.
- Forma radiofrequency skin tightening — bundled in our HydraFacial Forma tier for a glow-plus-firming visit.
- Morpheus8 RF microneedling for deeper remodeling — HydraFacial is one of the few facial treatments that doesn't require a waiting period before it.
- Lymphatic drainage massage — built into the Platinum and HydraFacial Forma tiers, so a HydraFacial and massage happen in the same appointment.
Sequencing matters — some pairings happen in the same visit, others alternate between sessions. Your plan is built at the consultation.
Want the science? Read our HydraFacial evidence review — a full clinical deep-dive covering how hydradermabrasion works, what the Freedman 2008 study actually measured, when a chemical peel or microneedling is the better tool, and what results to realistically expect. Or skip the homework: a quick consultation maps your skin type and goals to the right tier and boosters.
HydraFacial vs the alternatives
All four refresh the skin's surface — the difference is depth, downtime, and what they correct best. We offer every option below, so the recommendation is based on your skin, not a sales script.
| Treatment | How it works | Best for | Downtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| HydraFacial | Vortex hydradermabrasion — exfoliation, extraction, and serum hydration in one pass | Glow, congestion, hydration, maintenance between deeper treatments | None |
| Classic facial | Manual cleansing, exfoliation, mask, and massage | Relaxation, mild congestion, sensitive-skin maintenance | None |
| Chemical peel | Acid-based resurfacing at a controlled depth | Pigment, texture, acne scarring — deeper correction | Several days of peeling |
| SkinPen microneedling | Micro-channels prompt collagen induction at the surface | Texture, fine lines, acne scars | 24–48 hours |
